What the plumbing side decides before a tile is chosen
Every bathroom or kitchen remodel has a plumbing decision buried in it before the design decisions get made. Where the drain and supply lines actually run, whether a fixture can move to where somebody wants it, and whether the pipe already behind the wall can support what's being planned. Answering that first saves a redesign later.
That's the order we work in. We look at what's already there, tell you honestly what can move and what can't without opening up more of the wall than anyone wants to pay for, and price it before a single tile gets picked.

Fixture, drain and supply work: sinks, toilets, showers
The plumbing scope on most remodels is the same short list, in different combinations. New sinks and faucets, toilet replacement or relocation, shower valves and drains, and the supply and drain lines that connect all of it back to the rest of the house.
Fixture work is straightforward on its own. What makes it a remodel rather than a repair is doing it in a sequence that matches everyone else on the job, tile setters and drywall crews included, so the plumbing is in and tested before it gets covered up.
Chapter 03
Old Shreveport houses: cast iron and galvanized behind the wall
A lot of Shreveport's older neighborhoods still have cast iron drain lines and galvanized supply lines behind the walls, and a remodel is usually the first time in decades anyone has actually looked at them. Cast iron that's done its sixty years and galvanized pipe that's narrowed from the inside both change what a remodel actually involves once the wall is open.
That's not a reason to avoid opening the wall. It's a reason to have somebody look before the budget is set, because replacing a run of old pipe while a wall is already open costs a fraction of what it costs to come back and do it later.
